Dr. Lalani was born in Bombay, India, and completed his pre-dental and dental school education there. He was the valedictorian of his dental school class, and was judged the best graduating student by his dental school and received an outstanding achievement award by the International College of Dentists.
After graduation from dental school, Dr. Lalani completed post-graduate training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from his alma mater. He then proceeded to Scotland and England for training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and completed the required training and examinations for Fellowship in the Faculty of Dentistry of The Royal College of Surgeons. Dr. Lalani then came to Houston to start training in an integrated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/PhD program at The University of Texas Health Science Center and affiliated hospitals of The University of Texas Medical School and Baylor College of Medicine. His research focus was in molecular biology and wound healing, and he received the award for Best Ph.D. Thesis in the Medical Faculties by Sigma Xi Texas Medical Center Institutions & Rice University Chapters.
Dr. Lalani maintains an active dental license in the state of Texas, and is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and has successfully completed the British Intercollegiate specialty fellowship examinations in Oral Surgery, joining a handful of surgeons in the U.S.A. who are diplomates of both American and British boards.
Dr. Lalani maintains surgical privileges at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, and Texas Childrens Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Ireland. Additionally, he is a member of the Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Houston Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Greater Houston Dental Society.
Dr. Lalani joined Northwest Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, in 2005. He, his wife and daughter live in Spring, Texas.
